Pause after each checkpoint and complete it in Fiverr. The written version below carries the same sequence and links to the official help source for every important rule.
Four things to have ready
A few deliberate choices now prevent avoidable account edits and a vague first Gig later.
-
01
A long-term email address
Use an inbox you control and check regularly. Account notices and verification requests can be time-sensitive.
-
02
One professional identity
Prepare your real or representative display name, a current photo or logo, and accurate experience details.
-
03
A mobile number you control
Fiverr says one phone number can be linked to one account, and VoIP numbers are not supported for verification.
-
04
One service to sell first
Choose a narrow deliverable, three relevant samples, a delivery time, and clear revision boundaries.
Checkpoint 01
Create and verify the base account
Open Fiverr, select Join, and register with your email address or an available sign-in provider. Choose the username carefully, complete email verification, and secure the account before building the seller profile.
- Use a username you can keep; Fiverr says usernames cannot be changed.
- Use only one freelancer account.
- Finish email verification before continuing.
Checkpoint 02
Activate freelancer mode on desktop
Sign in on a desktop browser, open your profile menu, and choose Become a Seller. Review Fiverr’s onboarding videos and guidance, then continue through the seller setup flow.
- Use a supported desktop browser.
- Read the platform rules before accepting them.
- Keep the account information consistent across the setup.
Checkpoint 03
Build a truthful seller profile
Add a clear display name, current profile image, focused professional title, languages, skills, education, and an About section that explains the work you actually do. Do not place contact details or external links in the profile description.
- Describe evidence and experience without unsupported claims.
- Use a clear image that represents you or your business.
- Complete the onboarding tasks Fiverr requires for profile visibility.
Checkpoint 04
Complete phone and identity checks
Start phone verification from a desktop browser and use a standard mobile number you control. Fiverr may also request identity or business verification before a Gig can be listed or when its systems require another check.
- Do not use a VoIP number.
- Keep your identification details accurate and current.
- Follow the exact prompt shown in your account; requirements can vary.
Checkpoint 05
Create one focused Gig
Choose the closest category, write a result-led title, define what each package includes, set realistic delivery and revision terms, add honest samples, and ask only for the information needed to begin. Review the complete listing before publishing.
- Price with Fiverr’s current seller share in mind.
- State what is included, excluded, and needed from the buyer.
- Preview the Gig and correct unclear claims before publishing.
Three choices that are hard to undo
Your username is not casual
Fiverr says a username cannot be changed. Choose one you can keep as your service develops.
A second freelancer account is not a reset button
Fiverr permits one freelancer account. Correct a setup problem through the account or support path instead of creating a duplicate.
Profile claims must survive verification
Names, experience, credentials, location, and work samples should be accurate and consistent with any verification request.
Open Fiverr, then keep this walkthrough beside it
