The lesson follows the same method as the written guide. When the SolveNook video is published, it can be added from one WordPress setting without rebuilding this page.

  1. Why the cheapest Gig can cost more
  2. Write a brief before opening Fiverr
  3. Search versus posting a project brief
  4. Shortlist by evidence
  5. Message before ordering
  6. Compare the complete cost
  7. Submit requirements and manage the order
  8. Review delivery without losing the deadline

Before you search

A buyer who prepares the decision first can compare sellers on the same terms. Set these four things before opening the marketplace.

  1. Define the finished result

Write the exact files, format, dimensions, quantity, and acceptance test. “A logo” is vague; “three original concepts plus editable vector and web files” can be compared.

  2. Set the real ceiling

Keep the service, extras, checkout fees, taxes, and a small contingency inside one maximum approval amount.

  3. Collect safe reference material

Prepare examples and brand context, but remove passwords, payment data, identity documents, and confidential client information.

  4. Choose the decision owner

Decide who approves scope and feedback before the order starts. Conflicting reviewers create avoidable revisions.

Turn the idea into a testable brief

State the business goal, required deliverables, technical details, timeline, budget range, references, exclusions, and the evidence you will use to accept the work. The same brief should be usable with every candidate so the comparison stays fair.

Do not begin with seller names. Begin with the result you need and the conditions that make it usable.

  • Name every final file or outcome.
  • Separate required items from preferences.
  • State the deadline and any review dates.
  • Remove sensitive information before sharing.

Choose search or a posted brief

Use Fiverr search when the service is standard and you know the right category. Apply filters that match the work, then open a small shortlist. For a less standard project, post a brief to receive and compare tailored offers from relevant freelancers.

A search result is a discovery surface, not a quality verdict. Fiverr says recommendations use several signals and can be refined with filters.

  • Search with the deliverable, not a broad job title.
  • Keep the same requirements for every candidate.
  • Use a project brief when a normal package does not describe the job.
  • Do not assume the first result is the best fit.

Shortlist by evidence and scope match

Review the Gig description, package boundaries, portfolio examples, recent relevant reviews, communication language, availability, delivery time, and revision terms. Look for proof that resembles your requested outcome rather than choosing on rating or price alone.

A large review count can show marketplace experience, but it does not replace relevant work samples or a package that actually covers your brief.

  • Find samples close to your format or industry.
  • Read what is excluded as carefully as what is included.
  • Check whether source files, commercial use, or other rights are included when relevant.
  • Keep two or three credible options instead of opening many unrelated tabs.

How Fiverr works for clients ↗

Confirm the job before paying

For work with custom requirements, send the same concise message to each shortlisted freelancer. Ask whether the selected package covers the deliverables, who will do the work, what information is needed, what counts as a revision, and whether the deadline is realistic. Ask for a custom offer when the public package does not match.

Fiverr notes that Request to Order may appear on some Gigs. Even when it does not, clients can message a freelancer or request a quote before ordering.

  • Ask one grouped message instead of many fragments.
  • Keep all scope confirmation on Fiverr.
  • Request a custom offer when price, scope, or milestones differ.
  • Do not ask for unpaid speculative work.

Compare the complete offer

Compare the exact deliverables, delivery date, revision allowance, extras, ownership or usage terms, and checkout total. A custom offer can be useful for tailored scope; some categories can support milestones, subscriptions, or hourly arrangements. Choose the simplest structure that reflects the actual work.

The listed Gig price is not always the final checkout amount. Review Fiverr fees, applicable taxes, extras, and your contingency before approval.

  • Match every offer against the same brief.
  • Confirm extras and rights before checkout.
  • Use milestones only when the project has real approval stages.
  • Keep the complete cost under the approval ceiling.

Start the order with complete requirements

After checkout, submit the agreed requirements in one organized response. Reconfirm the deliverables, references, file formats, timeline, and contact person. Use the order page for decisions and changes so the record stays attached to the work.

Fiverr says the order process starts after the client submits the required information. Missing details can leave the order waiting for requirements.

  • Submit all agreed files and answers promptly.
  • Confirm any change in price or timing before extra work begins.
  • Keep approvals and revision notes specific.
  • Check the order page instead of relying only on email notifications.

Review delivery against the brief

Download and open every file, compare the delivery with the agreed scope, and test it in the environment where it will be used. Accept when the work meets the agreement. If changes are needed, request a revision with a numbered list tied to the original brief, or request more review time when the work needs a longer check.

Fiverr says clients can accept, request revisions, or request more review time. Standard orders can complete automatically if the client takes no action during the review period, so check the current timer shown on the order page.

  • Open and test the actual delivered files.
  • Keep revision requests inside the agreed scope.
  • Use the Resolution Center only after direct communication does not solve the issue.
  • Leave a factual review after the order is complete.

A five-check shortlist

Use the same checklist for every serious candidate. A complete row is stronger evidence than an attractive profile viewed without a standard.

Send one complete pre-order message

Replace the brackets, keep the questions together, and send the same core message to each shortlisted freelancer.

Hi — I’m considering your service for the project below.

Outcome: [what the finished work must achieve]
Deliverables: [files, quantity, format, dimensions]
Deadline: [date and review milestones]
References: [safe links or attached examples]
Included revisions needed: [number or boundary]

Could you please confirm:
1. Whether your listed package covers this complete scope.
2. What you need from me before starting.
3. The final delivery date and file formats.
4. What would count as an extra or out-of-scope revision.
5. Whether a custom offer would describe this work more accurately.

Thank you.
